Gilbert is an experienced investment professional who is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs in building, growing and scaling their ventures.

Gilbert Anyetei currently serves as an Investment Associate at Innovation Edge (IE). Innovation Edge is an early stage impact-first investment firm that invests in early stage social enterprises.

In his current position, Gilbert plays a crucial role in expanding the investment profile of Innovation Edge, which involves activities such as pipeline building, venture building, and portfolio management. Before this, he joined RisCura’s alternative investment services division, which focused on providing investment advisory services to private equity, venture capital, infrastructure and pension funds. As a Senior Associate, Gilbert led a team of analysts and provided expert advice on investment valuation, modelling and consulting. Gilbert was also the principal author of RisCura’s Bright Africa publication – a cutting-edge research initiative focusing on Africa’s investment landscape.

Prior to RisCura, he successfully obtained his Chartered Accountant qualification after completing his articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the financial services division (insurance, asset management and other niche financial service offerings).

Gilbert’s educational background includes a degree in Business Science, with a specialisation in Finance and Accounting from the University of Cape Town. He furthered his studies by obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the same institution.

Throughout his career, Gilbert has worked with over 80 organisations across several sectors spanning across Sub-Saharan Africa.
